Cut Flower Care

To make your cut flower bouquets last as long as possible- keep your flowers in water at all times. Make sure the container you are going to arrange them in is free of all bacteria. To do this fill it with hot water and a few drops of bleach (up to a teaspoon) and let soak for 20 minutes to a 1/2 hour. Then dump the bleach water out. Always trim the cut ends of flowers before arranging. Fill the container with fresh water or fresh water and preservative and then arrange them.

Here are some other ways to lengthen the bloom time of your bouquets-
1. Without preservative-every day re-cut the ends of your flowers and replace the water in the container.
2. With preservative- After 3 days re-cut the ends of your flowers and replace the preservative and water with fresh preservative and water.

Special Instructions for Care of Lisianthus Flowers:
Lisianthus flower stems keep flowering for 8-10 days. As the new blossoms open- the old blossoms need to be trimmed off to make the bouquet still look nice. Some of my customers have gotten 14 days of flowering out of them.
